Worth knowing that Kensington, Chelsea and Notting Hill are not in the zone despite feeling central — the Western Extension covering them was scrapped in 2011. We pass it on at cost with no markup, and for the vast majority of Feltham moves it is simply not a factor.
A large share of our Feltham work is Heathrow staff, and that shapes the job in ways that do not apply anywhere else we cover. Locally, the roads to plan around are the A312 Hatton Cross Parkway and the A30 Bath Road, both of which carry heavy airport traffic including HGVs at genuinely any hour rather than at predictable peaks. For Bedfont and Hatton Cross addresses we approach through the residential roads rather than the airport arterials, which is slower on paper and faster in practice. The one timing note that does follow a pattern: Heathrow shift changeovers put a lot of cars on the perimeter roads around 6am, 2pm and 10pm, so a 7am start is comfortably clear of the first of them.
Feltham's housing works in our favour on access. Hanworth and the Bedfont estates have wide roads, driveways and level thresholds — about as straightforward as removals get in London, and a driveway means no permit and no £40 admin fee. The Victorian terraces around the town centre are tighter but still better than inner London equivalents. The purpose-built flats near the station and along the High Street are the ones that need planning: lift coordination, sometimes a loading bay to pre-book, and occasionally a managing agent wanting insurance documentation.
