We work with any storage facility in London — we are not tied to one provider. The facilities we most commonly use for West London customers include Safestore locations in Chiswick, Hammersmith and Brentford, and Big Yellow locations in Fulham, Ealing and Twickenham. We can also work with smaller independent facilities and lock-up garages depending on your location and budget. If you have already chosen your facility, just let us know and we will coordinate the logistics. If you haven't chosen yet, we can advise on the nearest suitable options for your area.

As a rough guide: a studio flat typically fills a 25 to 35 sq ft unit. A one-bedroom flat needs 35 to 50 sq ft. A two-bedroom home needs 50 to 75 sq ft. A three-bedroom house often requires 75 to 100 sq ft or more. Most people underestimate by 30 to 50%, so when in doubt, go larger — the cost difference between unit sizes is usually small, and running out of space on delivery day is extremely stressful. Tell us what you're storing and we will advise on the right size before you book the unit.

Your belongings are covered by our goods-in-transit insurance while we are moving them — from your home to the facility, and from the facility to your new home. Once in storage, coverage depends on the facility's own insurance terms. Most major facilities (Safestore, Big Yellow) include a basic level of cover with the unit rental and offer the option to extend it for higher-value contents. We recommend checking their terms before signing up and declaring the approximate value of your belongings when asked.

Yes — this is called a partial storage run and it is one of our most common services. We load everything from your current address, deliver the items going into storage to the facility first, then continue to your new home with the rest. It is all done in a single van journey, which is usually the most cost-effective approach. This is particularly common when downsizing — items you don't need immediately go into storage, and you collect them gradually as you settle in.

There is no fixed limit — most storage facilities offer flexible rolling monthly contracts with no minimum period. You can store for a week, a month, or a year. We carry out the collection from storage whenever you are ready, whether that is two weeks or twelve months later. Just give us a few days notice to schedule the collection run and we will coordinate directly with the facility.

Ideally yes — you or someone you trust should be present at the storage facility to sign in and confirm the unit is correct before we unload. Some facilities also require the account holder to be on site for the first visit. Once the unit is set up and you have your access card or code, subsequent visits (for collection) can sometimes be arranged without you present if you provide us with the access details in advance. We discuss the specifics when you book.

For storage runs, we recommend booking at least 3 to 5 days in advance to allow time to confirm the storage facility slot alongside the van booking. End-of-month and end-of-tenancy periods are particularly busy — if your move date falls around the 25th to 31st of any month, booking one to two weeks ahead is advisable. For weekday moves outside peak periods, we can often accommodate 48-hour bookings. Call or WhatsApp us with your date and we will confirm availability straight away.
