Piano Moving London
Your Piano, Moved Safely
A piano is one of the heaviest, most awkward and most valuable items in any home. An upright piano typically weighs between 150kg and 300kg and has a high centre of gravity. A baby grand, once the legs are removed, is a large, heavy, oddly-shaped object that requires careful planning to navigate through a standard Victorian London house. And all of this needs to happen without damaging the instrument, the walls, the floors or anyone on the team.
London Moverz moves pianos regularly across West and South West London. We use piano skids, heavy-duty piano boards and four-man teams for grand pianos. For upright pianos on ground floor to ground floor moves, a well-equipped two-man team with a piano dolly is usually sufficient. We assess every job individually before quoting, because no two piano moves are identical — the access at each end, the number of steps, the type of piano and the presence of a lift all affect the approach.
We do not subcontract piano moves to third parties. The team that comes to your home is our own. We wrap the piano fully in moving blankets before it leaves the room. We remove legs from grand pianos and secure the lid. We use piano dollies and skids on every move, never rollers alone. We place protective floor covering on wooden floors and stairs before the piano is moved. And we provide a fixed price rather than an hourly rate for piano moves, so you know exactly what you are paying.
