Common Questions
Yes, basement flat moves are one of our specialities in Fulham. The Victorian terraces that dominate much of Fulham SW6 often have steep external stairs down to basement level, requiring careful manoeuvring of large furniture. We bring specialist equipment including furniture straps and corner protectors, and always assess access on arrival to ensure nothing gets damaged.
Yes, most of Fulham SW6 is within a controlled parking zone. If you want a bay reserved, LBHF needs at least 8 days' notice — counted in calendar days, so weekends and bank holidays count toward the total — and charges £48 per five-metre bay per day for the first five days. A long-wheelbase van usually needs two bays. One thing worth checking: LBHF only charges for days when the parking controls in that zone actually operate, so if your zone is Monday to Friday only, a Saturday suspension carries no daily charge. On quieter side streets a weekday move before 9am is often manageable with no suspension at all, and we will tell you when that applies.
Yes, we cover all of Fulham SW6 including Parsons Green, Barons Court, Fulham Broadway, Munster Village and the riverside areas along the Thames. All parts of SW6 are covered at our standard rate with no additional postcode charges.
Yes, we handle moves from the premium riverside apartments near Chelsea Harbour and the Fulham riverside. These buildings often have specific removal requirements including pre-booked loading bays, goods lift reservations and COI insurance certificates. We are experienced with premium property moves and can provide all necessary documentation.
Yes, we operate 7 days a week from 7AM to 9PM including evenings and weekends at no extra charge. Evening moves in Fulham are popular for professionals who cannot take time off work — we can start loading from 6PM and complete most flat moves by 9PM.
Fulham SW6 sits just outside the Congestion Charge zone. Moves within Fulham and to nearby areas like Hammersmith, Putney, Chiswick and Battersea will not incur any charge. Chelsea and Kensington are outside the zone too, so a Fulham-to-Chelsea move carries no charge — if a company adds one, question it. The charge only applies further in: Mayfair, Westminster, Soho, the City, Bloomsbury. It is £18 per day as of 2 January 2026, running 07:00–18:00 Monday to Friday and 12:00–18:00 at weekends and on bank holidays, and we pass it on at cost with no markup.
Yes — both Stamford Bridge and Craven Cottage are within close reach of Fulham SW6, and home match days significantly affect parking and road access in the surrounding streets. We always check the fixture calendar when scheduling Fulham moves and will flag any potential conflicts when you book. Where possible, we recommend avoiding match day afternoons for moves in the Fulham Road, Munster Road and New King's Road areas.
Yes — mansion block moves without lifts are very common in Barons Court and parts of Fulham Broadway. Our team is trained and physically prepared for stairwell carries on multiple floors. We always ask about the floor level, stairwell width and any tight corners when you book, and we send an appropriately sized team to ensure the move is completed safely without damage to the building or your belongings.
Yes — Fulham's housing stock contains a significant volume of high-value antique furniture, artwork and period pieces. We treat every item with the same level of care: full blanket wrapping for all furniture, specialist padding for mirrors and artwork, and careful assessment of the exit route before we start. We are fully insured and take our responsibility for your belongings seriously. If you have particularly valuable or fragile items, please mention them when booking so we can ensure we bring the right materials.
£50/hr for 1 man + van and £65/hr for 2 men + van, minimum 2 hours (£110 and £130), then £32.50 per additional 30 minutes. Fulham's Victorian terraces and mansion blocks mean stairs on most jobs, so 2 men is usually both faster and cheaper overall than 1. Any bay suspension cost is passed on at cost, never marked up.
Usually 20 to 25 minutes via Hammersmith or Wandsworth Bridge, traffic depending. Fulham is close enough that we can often take same-day and next-day work in SW6 when the diary allows.
London Moverz carries £2 million public liability cover and £25,000 goods in transit insurance. Chelsea Harbour and the higher-spec riverside blocks require a Certificate of Insurance before a removal firm is allowed on site — tell us which building when you book and we will send the COI to their managing agent ahead of your move date.
Two weeks is the realistic answer for SW6, and the reason is parking rather than our diary. Most Fulham streets are controlled and a bay suspension needs at least 8 days' notice from Hammersmith & Fulham, counted in calendar days rather than working ones — weekends count toward the total. Work backwards from that and you will not be rushed.
Call or WhatsApp 07897 383022, or use the booking form. We confirm within the hour, 7 days a week, 7am to 9pm. Tell us the addresses, the floor and lift situation at both ends, roughly what is moving and your date — and mention if you already know your street needs a suspension, because that shapes the timeline more than anything else.
We do both, with the same team. A man and van in Fulham is the right choice for a studio, a single room, a few items of furniture or a part-load — one man and a van at £50/hr, or two men at £65/hr, minimum two hours. Full house removals Fulham SW6 is the same service scaled up: two men, a full pack-and-load, furniture dismantling and reassembly, and protection for floors and doorways. Most narrow Victorian terraces and basement flats around Parsons Green and Munster Village need the two-man option once you are past a one-bedroom flat, simply because of stair carries and the size of the furniture. We do not subcontract either service — the people who quote your Fulham removal are the people who turn up. If you are not sure which you need, send a photo or a room list and we will tell you honestly, including if the smaller option is enough. Parking suspensions in Fulham go through Hammersmith & Fulham Council, and we will tell you exactly what to apply for.
For weekend moves in Fulham, we recommend booking at least one week in advance as demand is high — particularly at month end when tenancy agreements change over. For weekday moves, 2-3 days notice is usually sufficient. Same-day bookings are accepted when availability allows.
Most local moves in Fulham are completed in 2–4 hours. We operate 7 days a week, 7AM–9PM, and can often accommodate same-day or next-day bookings.

About Our Service
London Moverz has been serving Fulham and South West London since 2015. Based in Chiswick W4, we reach Fulham SW6 quickly via the A4 and Hammersmith — most SW6 addresses are within 20 to 25 minutes of our base. Over nearly a decade we have carried out hundreds of moves across Fulham: from the stucco-fronted townhouses of Parsons Green, to the terraced streets of Munster Village and the Hurlingham Estate, to the glass-and-steel riverside apartments along Fulham Reach and Chelsea Harbour. Fulham is one of the most active removal markets in South West London, with a constant flow of young professionals, growing families and upsizers moving within and through SW6 — and we are well placed to serve all of them.
Fulham SW6 is made up of several distinct pockets, each with its own moving personality. Parsons Green — the area's most fashionable village — is characterised by large Victorian semi-detached houses and grand terraces on streets like Eel Brook Common, Daisy Lane and the surrounding conservation area. These are substantial family moves that typically require the 2 men + van service and careful handling of antique furniture, original fireplaces and period fixtures. Munster Village, to the north, has smaller Victorian and Edwardian terraces that are equally charming but more compact — the hallways are narrower and the stairwells tighter, which is where our specialist equipment earns its keep.
Barons Court, on the Hammersmith border, is dense with purpose-built Edwardian mansion blocks — handsome buildings with large flats, but often with no lift or with lifts too small to accommodate large furniture. We carry out many mansion block moves in this area and are experienced coordinating between ground floor loading and upper floor delivery via stairwell. The Fulham riverside — Chelsea Harbour, Watermeadow Court and the developments along Townmead Road — is a completely different proposition: modern high-rises with pre-bookable loading bays, goods lifts and building management requirements. We know the procedures at the main Fulham riverside buildings and guide every customer through what needs to be arranged in advance.
Fulham has more basement flats per square mile than almost anywhere else in London. The Victorian terraces throughout SW6 were built with lower ground floor accommodation, and over the decades most have been converted into self-contained flats with their own front entrance down a flight of external steps. Moving from a Fulham basement flat requires specific technique — large items of furniture must be angled and tilted to navigate the external stairwell, which is often narrow, has a low ceiling overhang and opens directly onto the pavement. We are expert at this. Our team will assess the access before we start, plan the exit route for each large item, and use blankets and corner protectors throughout to protect both your furniture and the building.
Almost all of Fulham SW6 operates within a Controlled Parking Zone managed by the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham (LBHF). Parking suspensions are needed for most weekend moves and for many weekday moves on busier streets. The Fulham Road, New King's Road and Munster Road are all heavily enforced. LBHF requires at least 8 days' notice for a bay suspension, and unlike most boroughs weekends and bank holidays count toward that total — so the eight days are calendar days, not working ones, which makes Fulham more forgiving than Wandsworth or Richmond on timing. Payment must be made in advance or the application is declined. Since the November 2024 increase the fee is £48 per five-metre bay per day for the first five days, rising to £74 a day from day six. A long-wheelbase van generally needs two bays, so budget around £96 for a single day rather than £48.
There is a rule in LBHF's charging that is worth real money and almost nobody uses. A chargeable day is only a day on which the parking controls would normally apply in that zone. If your CPZ does not operate on a Saturday, a Saturday is not a chargeable day — you still get the bay reserved and the yellow notice on the post, but you are not billed for it. Before you book, check the controlled hours for your specific zone: several Fulham zones are Monday to Friday only, and if yours is one of them a Saturday move can cost you nothing in daily charges at all. That happens to be the cheapest way to move in SW6, and it is the opposite of what most people assume.
The application is made by you as the occupier, since LBHF issues the suspension against the address and the vehicle registration — send us the reg and we will make sure the right van is named on it. We carry out a parking assessment on every Fulham booking and will tell you honestly when you do not need one: on the quieter Munster Village and Bishops Park side streets, particularly before 9am, there is often a legal loading point close enough that the £96 is better left in your pocket. Matches at Stamford Bridge (Chelsea FC) and Craven Cottage (Fulham FC) both affect road access and parking in SW6 — we always check the fixture calendar when scheduling moves near these grounds, and avoid match-day starts unless absolutely necessary.
Good news for Fulham customers: SW6 sits well outside the London Congestion Charge zone — and it is worth being precise, because this is the single most misreported fact in London removals. The zone's western edge runs along Park Lane, Edgware Road and Vauxhall Bridge Road, a long way east of Sloane Square. The whole of Fulham SW6, Chelsea SW3, Kensington W8 and Notting Hill W11 sit outside it: the Western Extension that once covered them was introduced in 2007 and scrapped in January 2011, and the boundary has not moved since. Moves within Fulham and to surrounding areas — Hammersmith, Putney, Battersea, Chelsea — will not incur any Congestion Charge. Fulham is, however, inside the expanded ULEZ zone (since August 2023). All London Moverz vans are ULEZ-compliant, so you will never see a surprise ULEZ charge on your invoice. If your move does cross into the Congestion Charge zone — Mayfair, Westminster, Soho, the City, Bloomsbury or Elephant and Castle — the charge is £18 per day as of 2 January 2026, its first rise since 2020. Two changes catch people out: it now applies at weekends (07:00–18:00 Monday to Friday, 12:00–18:00 Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays), and it is billed per calendar day, so a job running past midnight counts twice. We pass it on at cost with no markup and clarify it at booking.
SW6 is the only area we cover with two Premier League grounds inside it. Stamford Bridge sits at the Fulham Road end and Craven Cottage at the river end, and between them they put a home fixture into the area most weekends of the season. On a match day the affected streets are closed or heavily controlled for a window either side of kick-off, residents' bays get suspended for stewarding, and the roads that normally serve a move — Fulham Road, Fulham Palace Road, New King's Road, Harwood Road — carry tens of thousands of people on foot. A van that is not already unloaded by the time that starts is a van that is not going anywhere.
So we check both fixture lists before confirming any Fulham date, and we say so at booking rather than discovering it later. The practical rules we work to: for an address within about ten minutes' walk of either ground, a 3pm Saturday kick-off means the job needs to be finished by around 1pm, not started then. Evening kick-offs are worse for a daytime move than they sound, because the build-up starts mid-afternoon. And European nights at Stamford Bridge affect midweek evenings that would otherwise be completely clear. If your date is fixed and it clashes, an early start is almost always the answer — 7am on a match-day Saturday is genuinely fine, 1pm is not.
There is an upside worth knowing. Many Fulham controlled parking zones operate Monday to Friday only, and LBHF only charges suspension fees for days when the controls actually apply — so a non-match Saturday can be both the easiest and the cheapest day to move in SW6. Check your zone's controlled hours and, if there is no home fixture, a Saturday morning is often the best slot available.
Fulham has more garden-level and lower-ground flats than anywhere else we work, and they are the reason this page exists. The difficulty is rarely the number of steps. It is that the steps go down from the pavement, usually through a narrow gate, with a handrail on one side and a wall on the other, and often turning at the bottom onto a small light well before the front door. Carrying a wardrobe up a staircase is a controlled movement; carrying one down a basement stair is a braked one, which is slower, needs two people regardless of the size of the load, and is where damage happens if anyone rushes it.
What we do differently on these. We book two people on basement flats as a default even where the volume would suggest one, because a single mover on a descending stair with a heavy item is how both furniture and backs get broken. We take the gate off its hinges where it will come off, protect the handrail and the wall on the way past, and we plan the order of the load around the fact that everything has to come up the same stair. Where the light well is too tight for a piece to turn, occasionally the answer is out through a rear garden or a bay window instead — that is a decision made from photographs beforehand, never improvised on the day.
When you enquire about a lower-ground flat, the useful details are: how many steps down from the pavement, whether the stair turns, whether the gate opens fully, and whether there is any rear access. Photographs are better than descriptions. Damp is worth mentioning too — a good number of Fulham basements have it, and cardboard boxes stored against a basement wall for a week before the move can arrive at the van softer than they went in.
For a whole-house move rather than a van and a couple of hours, see house removals London; packing services covers labour and materials. Where completion dates do not line up we can hold a load, and storage in London covers the longer gaps — useful in Fulham, where basement flats often have nowhere to stage boxes. Pianos in the Parsons Green and Hurlingham houses are quoted separately on our piano movers page. Business moves along Fulham Road and New King's Road are on our office removals page.
Fulham customers have high expectations — and rightly so, given the value of the properties and contents involved. We have built our reputation in SW6 on punctuality, care and honest pricing since 2015. We are owner-operated, which means the same experienced people who take your call arrive on your doorstep on move day. We cover all SW6 postcodes and are fully insured for high-value domestic and commercial moves.
We regularly serve all surrounding areas including Hammersmith W6, Putney SW15, Chiswick W4, Battersea SW11 and Kensington W8.
