Common Questions

FAQs — Man and Van Hounslow

No surcharge at all — Hounslow is within our standard service area and covered at our usual rates. Our team is very familiar with the roads around Hounslow and Heathrow, including the local traffic patterns affected by flight paths and airport shift patterns. We navigate these routes efficiently every week.

Yes, all three Hounslow Underground station areas are within our service zone — Hounslow West TW3, Hounslow Central TW3 and Hounslow East TW3 are all covered at the same rate. We also cover Heston TW5, Isleworth TW7 and the surrounding areas at no extra charge.

Hounslow High Street has active parking enforcement and limited stopping zones. For properties directly on or very near the High Street, a Hounslow permit is worth applying for. The minimum notice is 10 full working days. A bay suspension is £25 per space per day plus a £40 admin fee; where there are no bays outside the door — as along most of the High Street — a yellow line waiver is the right instrument instead, at £65 for the first day and £25 per additional day. You apply as the occupier, since Hounslow issues it against your address and vehicle registration. For the residential streets running off the High Street, parking is generally accessible and no permit is needed.

Yes, we regularly move from properties along and near the A4 Bath Road corridor in Hounslow. The A4 itself has strict no-stopping restrictions, but most residential moves are on the side streets where we can park appropriately. We always plan the safest and most efficient access route for your specific property.

Yes, moves between Hounslow TW3 and other TW postcodes such as Twickenham TW1, Feltham TW13, Isleworth TW7 and Brentford TW8 are common for us. The short distances involved keep costs low and these moves typically complete in 2-4 hours depending on the volume of belongings.

Hounslow TW3 is inside the expanded ULEZ zone (since August 2023), but our van is fully ULEZ-compliant — no surcharge is passed on to you. Hounslow is also well outside the London Congestion Charge zone. Moves within Hounslow and to surrounding TW postcodes like Isleworth, Brentford, Feltham and Twickenham will not incur any charge. If your move travels into the zone — Westminster, the West End, the City or Bloomsbury — the charge is £18 per day as of 2 January 2026, and it now runs at weekends too: 07:00–18:00 Monday to Friday, 12:00–18:00 Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. Kensington and Chelsea are outside the zone despite feeling central. It is passed on at cost with no markup, and the vast majority of Hounslow moves involve no congestion charge at all.

Yes — Hounslow's proximity to Heathrow means a significant proportion of our customers here are airport and airline staff relocating due to shift pattern changes, contract moves or lifestyle changes. We are used to working around unusual schedules and can accommodate early morning, late evening or short-notice bookings where possible. Call or WhatsApp us to discuss your specific timing requirements.

Early morning — before 8am — is the best time to load or unload on or near Hounslow High Street. The town centre becomes very busy from mid-morning, with bus traffic, delivery vehicles and shoppers creating significant congestion. For moves on the High Street itself a Hounslow permit is worth having, and it needs at least 10 full working days' notice. Because the High Street frontage is largely double yellows rather than bays, the instrument you usually want is a yellow line waiver rather than a bay suspension — £65 for the first day, £25 per additional day. We carry out the parking assessment on every High Street booking and tell you which of the two applies, though the application itself has to come from you as the occupier.

Yes — Hounslow's location near the M4 and M25 makes it an excellent starting point for long-distance moves. We regularly handle moves from TW3 to destinations across the South East, South West and Midlands. Hounslow to Reading, Hounslow to Bristol, Hounslow to Oxford — all are manageable in a single day with our large Luton van. Contact us for a custom quote on any long-distance move from Hounslow.

£50/hr for 1 man + van and £65/hr for 2 men + van, minimum 2 hours — so £110 and £130 — then £32.50 per additional 30 minutes. There is no travel surcharge for Hounslow and no weekend premium. Most two-bedroom moves within TW3 come in between 3 and 4 hours with 2 men.

On quieter residential streets, often not — a start before 8am usually solves it. Where a suspension is needed, Hounslow requires at least ten working days' notice and only waives that for documented emergencies such as utility works, so this is the item to sort first rather than last. We assess parking on every booking and tell you which case you are in.

London Moverz carries £2 million public liability cover and £25,000 goods in transit insurance, so your belongings are covered throughout. Items you have packed yourself are covered for loss and for damage in transit, though not for breakage caused by inadequate packing. Cash, jewellery and documents should travel with you rather than in the van.

For weekday moves, 2 to 3 days is usually enough. Saturdays and end-of-month dates fill first — allow a week. If your street needs a bay suspension, work backwards from Hounslow's ten working days rather than from our diary, which in practice means around three weeks' total lead time.

Call or WhatsApp 07897 383022, or use the booking form. We confirm within the hour, 7 days a week from 7am to 9pm. Tell us both addresses, the floor and access at each end, roughly what is moving and your preferred date — that is enough for a firm quote in most cases.

We do both, with the same team. A man and van in Hounslow is the right choice for a studio, a single room, a few items of furniture or a part-load — one man and a van at £50/hr, or two men at £65/hr, minimum two hours. Full house removals Hounslow TW3 is the same service scaled up: two men, a full pack-and-load, furniture dismantling and reassembly, and protection for floors and doorways. Most terraced and semi-detached family homes plus flats near the High Street need the two-man option once you are past a one-bedroom flat, simply because of stair carries and the size of the furniture. We do not subcontract either service — the people who quote your Hounslow removal are the people who turn up. If you are not sure which you need, send a photo or a room list and we will tell you honestly, including if the smaller option is enough. Parking suspensions in Hounslow go through Hounslow Council, and we will tell you exactly what to apply for.

For weekend moves in Hounslow, we recommend booking at least one week in advance as demand is high — particularly at month end when tenancy agreements change over. For weekday moves, 2-3 days notice is usually sufficient. Same-day bookings are accepted when availability allows.

Yes, we operate from 7AM to 9PM, 7 days a week. Early morning starts are popular in Hounslow for customers who want to beat the traffic on the High Street. Evening slots are also available for office moves that need to happen outside business hours. Just let us know your preferred time when booking.

Most local moves in Hounslow are completed in 2–4 hours. We operate 7 days a week, 7AM–9PM, and can often accommodate same-day or next-day bookings.

About Our Service

Hounslow Removals & Man and Van — Local Experts Since 2015

London Moverz has been serving Hounslow and the surrounding TW postcode area since 2015. Based in Chiswick W4, we reach Hounslow TW3 via the A315 Chiswick High Road and Kew Bridge — a journey of around 20 to 25 minutes in normal traffic. Over nearly a decade, we have built solid familiarity with Hounslow's roads, residential streets, parking patterns and property types — from the Victorian terraces of Old Hounslow to the post-war housing estates of Heston and the newer apartment blocks near the town centre.

Hounslow's Property Mix and Moving Considerations

Hounslow TW3 has a diverse housing stock that reflects its history as one of West London's most established suburban centres. The streets around Old Hounslow — Bell Road, Hanworth Road and the conservation area near All Saints Church — contain some handsome Victorian and Edwardian terraces with the typical access challenges of the period: narrow hallways, steep stairs and restricted street parking. These moves require careful planning and the right equipment, which we bring as standard. Moving further out from the town centre, the character changes considerably. Heston TW5, to the north, is predominantly post-war semi-detached and terraced housing with wider plots, front driveways and generally excellent removal access — some of the easiest moves we carry out in the Hounslow borough.

The newer apartment developments around the High Street and near Hounslow bus station are a growing part of the housing mix — modern blocks that often have goods lift access but require pre-booking and sometimes formal loading bay reservations. We are experienced with the main blocks in the town centre and will guide you through any building management requirements when you book. Hounslow Heath, to the south, is a mix of inter-war semis and bungalows bordering the green space — a pleasant and very accessible area to move in.

Heathrow, the M4 and How They Affect Hounslow Moves

Hounslow sits directly under the Heathrow flight path and adjacent to the M4 corridor, which creates a specific traffic environment unlike anywhere else in West London. The A4 Bath Road — Hounslow's main artery — can experience airport-related HGV and coach traffic at any hour, and the approach roads to the M4 junction at Heston can back up significantly during peak times. Our drivers know the residential alternative routes through Hounslow intimately and never get caught in avoidable delays. There is no surcharge for Hounslow or Heathrow-adjacent addresses — TW3 is covered at our standard rates with no hidden extras.

ULEZ & Congestion Charge — Hounslow Moves

Hounslow TW3 falls within the expanded Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), which has covered all London boroughs since August 2023. Our van is fully ULEZ-compliant — there is no ULEZ surcharge passed on to you. Hounslow is also well outside the London Congestion Charge zone. Moves within Hounslow and to surrounding TW postcodes — Isleworth, Brentford, Feltham, Twickenham, Richmond — will not incur any charge. If your move requires travel into the Congestion Charge zone — Westminster, the West End, the City, Bloomsbury or Elephant and Castle — the charge is £18 per day as of 2 January 2026, its first rise since 2020. It now applies at weekends as well (07:00–18:00 Monday to Friday, 12:00–18:00 Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays), and it is billed per calendar day, so a job running past midnight counts twice. Worth knowing that Kensington, Chelsea and Notting Hill are not in the zone despite feeling central — the Western Extension covering them was scrapped in 2011. We pass it on at cost with no markup, and the vast majority of Hounslow moves involve no congestion charge whatsoever.

Parking Suspensions — Hounslow Council

Hounslow Council requires a minimum of 10 full working days' notice for parking bay suspensions — one of the longer notice periods in West London, and worth planning around. The cost is £25 per space per day plus a £40 admin fee, so a single bay for one day comes to £65. That is cheap by London standards: the same bay costs £82 in Kensington and Chelsea, about £126 in Wandsworth and over £150 in Richmond and Lambeth once their admin fees are counted. Only Ealing next door is cheaper, at £39 with no admin fee.

There is a second instrument most people do not know about, and on the High Street it is usually the right one. Where there are no bays outside the property to suspend — the case along most of Hounslow High Street, where the frontage is double yellows — Hounslow will consider a yellow line waiver instead: permission for a named vehicle to load on single or double yellows for an agreed period. It costs £65 for one vehicle for one day and £25 per additional day, and you will need a screenshot of the location with the application. One more rule that catches people out: if you are also putting a skip in a bay, the suspension has to be approved before the skip permit, not alongside it.

The application is made by you as the occupier, not by us. Hounslow issues the suspension against the property address and the vehicle registration, so it has to come from the resident — send us the registration when you book and we will make sure the correct van is named on it. For residential streets without parking controls no suspension is needed at all, and across most of TW3, TW4 and TW5 that is the normal situation: wide roads, driveways and enough kerb frontage that a legal loading point sits within a few metres of the door.

Hounslow Is Our Own Borough — What That Actually Means

Most removal companies covering TW3 are visitors. We are not: London Moverz operates from Southfield Road in Chiswick, W4, which sits inside the London Borough of Hounslow. That is not a marketing line, it is the reason the parking section above has real numbers in it. We deal with Hounslow's suspensions team on our own doorstep, we know that the council's applications run through NSL rather than an in-house desk, and we know which of TW3's streets have controls and which do not without needing to look it up.

The practical benefit is dead mileage, or the lack of it. A firm dispatching from Croydon or Enfield starts your clock with an hour of empty running, and if your job overruns they are pushing to leave for the next one. We are fifteen to twenty minutes from most TW3 addresses. On a two-hour minimum booking that difference is roughly a third of the bill, and it is why we can offer same-day work here more often than almost anywhere else we cover.

It also changes what we can tell you before you commit. Give us an address on Lampton Road, Whitton Dene or the streets off Staines Road and Ali will know whether the van fits, where the legal loading point is and which end of the road to approach from. That is the difference between a quote and a guess. If we think your job is four hours we will say four, not three — we would rather lose the booking than surprise you at the end of it.

Hounslow's Housing, the Heath and Move-Day Timing

TW3, TW4 and TW5 cover a wider range of property than the postcode suggests. Central Hounslow around the High Street and the Treaty Centre is flats — a mix of purpose-built blocks and conversions above shops, where the constraints are lift coordination, shared entrances and shop deliveries tying up the kerb through the middle of the day. Those are early-start jobs by default. Lampton, Heston and the roads towards Osterley are the opposite: inter-war and post-war semis on wide roads with driveways, level thresholds and staircases with proper half-landings. A sofa that would need dismantling in a Fulham basement walks straight out of a Heston semi, and our estimates hold accordingly.

Two things to plan around on the day. The Great West Road and the A4 corridor carry airport-bound traffic including HGVs at genuinely any hour rather than at tidy peaks, and Heathrow shift changeovers put a lot of cars on the roads around 6am, 2pm and 10pm. And Hounslow High Street becomes very busy from mid-morning with buses, deliveries and shoppers — for anything on or near it, loading before 8am is worth more than any permit you could buy. The residential streets running off it are calmer all day.

One local note worth knowing if your move is near Hounslow Heath or the Whitton side: the road network there is less connected than a map suggests, with the Heath and the railway forcing longer routes than the direct distance implies. A satnav will happily send a Luton down a road it should not be on. We plan the approach before the day rather than following directions into a dead end.

For a full house rather than a van and a couple of hours, see house removals London, and packing services if you would rather not pack yourself. Where completion dates do not line up we can hold a load and storage in London covers longer gaps. Pianos are quoted separately on our piano movers page, and business moves around the High Street and the Great West Road corridor are on our office removals page.
